Maureen Doyle McQuerry

Maureen Doyle McQuerry is an award winning poet, author and teacher. She has taught for twenty years, specializing in Young Adult literature and writing, and in gifted education. She was the 2000 McAuliffe Fellow for Washington State and has published two non-fiction books, Nuclear Legacy, which won an Independent Bookseller Award (Battelle Press, 2000) and Student Inquiry (Creative Learning Press, 2003).
Maureen’s poetry chapbook, Relentless Light, is scheduled for publication April 20, 2007 with Finishing Line Press and is available for pre-order. Her collection of poems, Wingward, recently won the New Eden Chapbook Award. She is honored in the Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror 2006 for her poetry, and her poems appear in numerous journals including: Smartish Pace, The Atlanta Review,Southern Review, and in several anthologies.
Maureen gives author presentations and workshops for students in 5th-12thgrade on poetry and fiction writing. Maureen lives with her family in Richland, Washington, where she coordinates a program for gifted students.
